YOU CAN’T USE UP CREATIVITY, THE MORE YOU USE, THE MORE YOU HAVE.

– Maya Angelou

Hi! I’m Nadia!

I am based in Reading, United Kingdom and live with my husband and young daughter. I have a degree in IT and a Masters in Project Management, though having worked in the corporate sector for many years, it was following the birth of my daughter that I fully realised that I had been out of alignment and my heart belonged to teaching, art and wellness. So I combined all 3 of my passions and Inner Canvas was born out of a strong desire to enable others to discover the sustainable healing properties of art and craft. When I’m not designing new subscription boxes or running the Inner Canvas workshop with my amazing clients, I am experimenting with a new art or craft in my studio, getting messy with my daughter, working on my blog and Youtube channel or have my head in a psychology book!

ART AND CRAFT ARE WONDERFUL FORMS OF
DEEP AND RESTORATIVE MEDITATION

Our Values

1. CREATIVITY

“Creativity is Intelligence having fun” – Albert Einstein. I believe that we are created to create. To put forth a small piece of us into the world and to leave a mark, no matter how small. Creative people are happier people and that’s a fact!

2. CONNECTION

During the creative process, the bonding between groups becomes a natural side effect. There is much storytelling and sharing if people feel brave. We all have a story to tell. Gone are the days of a community coming together to make a quilt blanket for example. This is my version of creating the same togetherness and upliftment I believe we all need.

3. THE PROCESS

I believe in celebrating the process, not the end product. For me, it is truly the happiness of pursuit that matters more than the pursuit of happiness. We reserve judgement throughout the process and there is definitely no room for perfection! It’s messy and raw and fun!

4. GRATITUDE

Taking a moment to be grateful for the tiny things can make a dig difference in our lives. I love the way the sun beams down into my kitchen on a sunny morning, or the way my daughter eats her strawberries with her eyes closed. I love the smell of freshly baked bread and the way long grass feels upon my legs. Looking for the smallest things can help us feel grateful for the big things in our lives.

5. BEING HERE NOW

Life includes experiences we want and ones we don’t. Keeping your mind in the present moment, no matter how hard can be incredibly difficult. We are better at being present in the ones we want, and we need more practice staying in the moments we don’t want.

6. WELLNESS

There are 7 dimensions to wellness these are: Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Career, Intellectual, Environmental and Social.  Wellness and good health is not an instant fix but a habit and requires continuous integration and growth in these dimensions. I believe that feeling good is not a privilege, it is a right.
